Fire Engine

Some years ago Dave decided to buy a fire engine – only a small one, based on a landrover – an L4P to those who are in the brigade… eventually he purchased one from The Old Rectory School – Fire Brigade which they had decided not to do up as they had many more things to sort out indeed they now have seven operational appliances which is seven more than Dave!

So here it is…
Well not a lot of time got spent on it mostly thanks to the amount of time spent at Tega and the arrival of son James. However a certain amount of tinkering got the carb removed and sent away to refurb and subsequentally the engine running.

Also revealed:
Main chassis in really good condition
all 6 outriggers rusted away nearly totally
Rear cross member also gone
A post both sides holed
Drivers side footwell rusted through
Exhaust in about 6 pieces
Dead battery
Clutch Stuck
One Brake trailing
Most brake pipes rusty
Primer vacuum pump seems to never engage

so plenty to get on with then!
